When Does Dahl Contact You Again

After the end of Prey's "The Keys to the Kingdom" and its associated missions, y'all're effectively at the end of the game. Y'all've just got to decide how you lot want Prey to end. These choices take the class of the final two missions of Prey, "Perdition" and "A Mind Without Limits." These objectives are mutually exclusive — finishing ane makes the other inaccessible — for reasons that will be clear (hint: i involves explosions).

Then again, this is Casualty, where nothing is quite as information technology seems. Of form there's another ending. In this guide, we'll show you how to get them all.

Casualty'due south multiple endings

At the end of Prey, the two objectives yous have in your queue represent (broadly) with a good versus bad catastrophe. Or, rather, a salve-the-inquiry versus blow-it-all-upward catastrophe. Both of these objectives end in the aforementioned place — the Talos ane Bridge — and you can complete all of the tasks except for the last one of each (push the push button) without locking out the other. This means you tin can exercise all of the work of each without making that last determination.

At that place are three means to cease Prey. Your choice is about how you get out the game world.

  • Who is Dec? > Escape Talos i: You can simply give up. If you abandon your mission by taking Alex'due south escape pod earlier completing either "A Mind Without Limits" or "Perdition," you will, technically, arrive at an ending. This is the only way to complete the "Escape Talos i" objective in the "Who is December?" optional objective.
  • A Mind Without Limits: This catastrophe involves knocking out — merely not killing — all of the typhons in and around Talos ane. It preserves the station, the research and cognition contained therein and anyone left alive. This is (arguably) the good catastrophe.
  • Perdition: This is the nuclear pick catastrophe. Talos 1 is destroyed along with the typhons, enquiry and neuromods. Depending on other choices you've made, some survivors might escape — you can even escape. Or you tin can sit down and watch. This is (again, arguably) the bad or evil ending.
  • A hidden place: No comment.

Who Is December? > Escape Talos ane

Head dorsum to Alex's office in the center of the Arboretum. You lot have two ways to become to the escape pod. If you have hacking 4, you lot tin use Alex's calculator to lower a bridge from the escape pod to the roof of Alex'south part. This is the easy manner.

If you haven't maxed out your hacking, or you but similar a challenge, you tin utilise your GLOO gun instead. Climb upwards to the roof, then look for the wooden shelter-things. (Google tells us these are called pergolas, but we're pretty sure that'due south a made-up word.) Get to the roof of the "pergolas" and plough toward the escape pod. Use your GLOO cannon to give yourself footholds along the metal girders.

When you get to the escape pod, use the EP01 keycard you found in Alex's room to get within. Plough effectually, then push the button to close the door. So you can employ the computer screen to launch the escape pod and just kind of … quit.

Obvious warning: In that location are spoilers in the video below.

This will earn you the Abandon Transport achievement/bays. And it is technically an ending to the game, so … congratulations?

A Listen Without Limits (the "practiced" catastrophe)

You, as Morgan, designed a supercharged Nullwave prototype that is capable of knocking out all of the typhons in and around Talos i. Manufacturing, placing and triggering this device will bring you to the end of the game.

This is the least subversive ending, then nosotros guess that makes it the "good" ending. It does kind of assume that all future containment protocols will be successful, so maybe this is better described as the "optimistic" ending.

Become Nullwave Device plan

You already take the program — Alex gave it to you while he explained himself at the end of "The Keys to the Kingdom."

Fabricate the paradigm Nullwave Device

Get to a fabricator — there'southward the one at the GUTS entrance to the Arboretum if yous're in a hurry — and make information technology.

Place the prototype Nullwave Device

You lot can't only put the Nullwave Device just anywhere. Alex will phone call when you have it in paw and tell you to place it at the "Centre of the Coral."

The Heart of the Coral is on the satellite you encountered (saw, but probably didn't get shut to) during "Detour." Head to the Talos 1 Lobby, and so into Psychotronics. The Apex Typhon has its tendrils everywhere, so you're going to have to exist on your toes — the shotgun works wonders against the tendrils, by the way.

Caput all the style back through Psychotronics, through the security checkpoint and the Clean Room where yous picked up the psychoscope. Caput through the decontamination airlock and take the grav lift upwardly to the Psychotronics atrium.

The atrium has some tendrils, a phantom and a weaver waiting for you lot. If you've got the ammo, the Q-axle will tip this fight in your favor. Regardless of how y'all handle it, it's in your interest to terminate this fight fast — yous're starting off outnumbered and it's only going to get worse — and then don't be stingy with your charges or ammo.

Keep by Labs A and B, then turn into either the Materials Extraction or the Live Exam room. You're non doing anything in these rooms. You're just trying to get to the grav lock on the other side of the chamber. Information technology's the same room where you found your style into GUTS the commencement fourth dimension.

Activate the prototype Nullwave Device

In one case the Nullwave Transmitter is in place, Alex volition call and invite you up to the bridge to trigger information technology. Get up to the Arboretum, and then brand your fashion to the Talos 1 Span.

Hear out January and Alex while they make their cases. January has the panel locked down, so if you're committed to this ending, you're going to accept to destroy January — doing this volition get you the "Suicide by Proxy" achievement/bays.

Striking the button on the console to trigger the end of the game. (Meet "A Hidden Place" for what happens adjacent.)

Perdition (the "bad" ending)

This objective (and catastrophe) involves using the two Arming Keys — the one you manufactured and the one you lot got from Alex — to trigger the station's self-destruct sequence. This is the explode-y ending.

Since it involves blowing everything up — include the bulk of Talos ane'south crew — this is the "evil" or "bad" ending. There's some subtlety here, though, in who escapes and how. (And, in Prey's theme of philosophical exploration, it might actually be the amend catastrophe — depending on how you interpret some of the statements in "A Hidden Identify.")

Access cocky-destruct consoles

Now that you take both Arming Keys, you tin trigger the station to self-destruct. You're going to be following the aforementioned route you took through Life Support in "Reboot."

Make your way downwardly to Life Back up. Take the grav lift down to the lower level, and then caput into the Ability Establish.

The hallway after the security station in the Ability Plant has a nasty bundle of typhon tendrils on the right side, so y'all should either run through or use the monitoring room on your left to skip over it.

Keep going direct through the Coolant Chamber, past Lan Nguyen'south office (where you lot helped Mikhaila) and downwardly the grav lift to the Reactor Core. Your goal is all the way at the lesser — use the grav elevator in the left corner to become down, or just jump and use your adjust to soften the autumn.

Employ the Arming Keys in the Ability Institute

There is an access panel on the flooring that will open a hidden stairwell. Take the stairs downward beneath the reactor, then follow the hall around to the back.

Place both of the Arming Keys into the slots and activate them. Yous'll black out a little, but the game won't exist over still — yous oasis't triggered the self-destruct.

Trigger the station'south self-destruct

Alex will call you (like he does in "A Mind without Limits" and invite you lot to the bridge. Head up to the Arboretum and into the Talos one Bridge. This fourth dimension, Alex and January are in the Captain's Loft (where you lot completed "Shuttle Advent").

January and Alex will disagree about whether or not blowing up the station is a practiced idea — their fight volition culminate in January knocking Alex out.

You have the opportunity to destroy Jan earlier he attacks Alex, but it'south up to you — information technology doesn't actually change anything. Alex will give you the opportunity to alter your mind well-nigh blowing upwardly the station, though.

If your mind is made upwardly, use the console to activate (and ostend) the self-destruct sequence. If Alex is even so conscious, he'll be disappointed in you and reject to leave the station. If January is however functional, he'll be happy with you.

From hither, you have a few choices about how to continue, depending on which optional objectives you completed.

Perdition endings

So y'all've decided to blow upward the station. That's not the concluding choice you take to brand, though. Simply because the station is going to explode doesn't mean yous have to. You tin, simply you don't have to.

Which of the 3 conclusions below are available to y'all depends on which optional objectives you completed before in the game. If you didn't get the EP-01 keycard during "Who is Dec?," you won't exist able to go into the escape pod. If you killed Dahl, he won't exist there to airplane pilot the shuttle.

Sacrifice yourself to spare Earth ("Perdition" ending)

This is the easiest choice to complete — just do what Jan tells you. Take a seat and watch the credits gyre.

Escape Talos i ("Who is December?" ending)

Nosotros wrote about this before as a way to go the "Abandon Ship" achievement/bays. With the self-destruct inaugural running, head toward Alex's office. Since the gravity's off, you don't take to worry virtually the bridge or edifice yourself a GLOO walkway.

Head over to the escape pod and use the EP-01 keycard you lot got from Alex'south suite in Crew Quarters to get inside. From here, you can launch the escape pod and get away before Talos 1 blows up. (And Dahl's shuttle will have off too, saving everyone else.)

Become to the shuttle to escape Talos 1 ("Incapacitate Dahl" ending)

Dahl (and the other survivors) will telephone call you from the Shuttle Bay. The shuttle's ready to leave with Dahl behind the bicycle, and you lot're invited. If January is yet functional, information technology'll telephone call the shuttle with your vox and shorten your inaugural significantly.

Y'all'll accept to hurry, simply you can get in to the shuttle bay in time even if Jan cuts your time downwards. Head down to the Anteroom and out into the Shuttle Bay. Everything yous did during "The Repo Man" means you have a straight shot from the door to the shuttle.

Sit downwards in the co-airplane pilot seat, and wing off into the sunset.

A Hidden Place

Well. Here we are. We're non going to say much here, but at that place's a choice to be made, then it feels similar information technology should have a guide. Before nosotros say anything, though, we're going to write this in assuming: Terminate OF GAME SPOILERS AHEAD.

This image contains sensitive or violent content

Tap to display

After the credits roll, y'all'll wake upward in "A Hidden Place." All of the choices you fabricated (and optional objectives y'all completed) will be tallied upwards and laid out for you. Alex will give you i final selection to make. In that location'south nothing subtle most the choices — the result is exactly what it says. And we're not going to tell you which to choose. Prey ends either way. Information technology's just a question of what kind of person you want to exist.
